Abstract

Integrating migrant students remains a core challenge and opportunity for contemporary education systems. This study synthesizes key insights from multicultural education, culturally responsive pedagogy, bilingualism studies, and migration sociology to develop a holistic model for understanding inclusion. Drawing on foundational works by Banks, Gay, Ladson-Billings, Cummins, Portes, Rumbaut, and others, the model identifies four interconnected pillars—language acquisition, culturally responsive pedagogy, psychosocial support, and family engagement—as essential to fostering both academic success and social belonging. These dimensions are conceptualized as mutually reinforcing, highlighting the need for systemic approaches that address the complexity of migrant students’ experiences. By bringing together existing theoretical and empirical contributions, this study offers a structured lens for future research and practical guidance for educational institutions, policymakers, and practitioners committed to building more inclusive, equitable, and cohesive learning environments.
