AI/Chatbot Policy
The Journal of Research in Social Sciences and Language (JSSAL) supports transparency and integrity in the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and generative chatbot tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Bard, Gemini, Bing AI) in research and publication.
- Permitted Use: Authors may use AI tools only for language editing and improving readability of manuscripts, under full human oversight.
- Prohibited Use: AI/chatbot tools must not be used for generating research data, analysis, results, references, or writing any substantive part of the manuscript. AI-generated text or images cannot replace original scholarly contributions.
- Disclosure Requirement: Any use of AI/chatbot tools must be declared in the Acknowledgements section of the manuscript, including the tool used and the extent of its use.
Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, and integrity of their work. Editors and reviewers must not upload manuscripts or reviews into AI/chatbot systems to protect confidentiality.
This policy is aligned with international guidelines from COPE, Elsevier, and WAME on generative AI in scholarly publishing.
